    Cake rising problem - someone please help!!

    my coffee and walnut cake starts to rise ok but then the middle doesn't rise in the last 10 minutes or so, why!? I don't change the oven temp during cooking, don't open the door, have tried different amounts of baking powder, don't break the walnuts up too small and it's driving me up the wall...
