    Sticky gingerbread cake

    P.S. gingerbread also makes a great (holiday etc.) trifle or tiramisu when cubed or cut in sliced and doused (lightly) with brandy then spread with marscapone or whipped cream and layered with poached or caramelized pear. Top top with whipped cream and some candied ginger. :)

    Bakers.....I need your help!

    Um you can put in two pans so you don't have to cut in half or if you must cut in half you just have to use a large knife and be careful. Put cake at eye level and remember to keep cake "even" cut rounded (just a smidge) tops off to keep it flatter. :)

    Love my earl grey tea with lemon cake but love gingerbread as well.... could you substitute molasses for the golden syrup? I think it (golden syrup) is hard to find in the U.S. What is golden (derivitive) syrup anyway? P.S. candied ginger and a "drizzle" of confectioner's icing is also a lovely...

    Must you "age" fruit cake? Or can it be served fresh?

    Hi I forgot to make fruit cake in advance and was wondering if I could just "drink" (with rum etc.) it for a few days or serve it fresh (with a spirnkle?) Is it inedible fresh? Or yucky? Thanks. :)

    Cooking "real food" at home vs. Eating out?

    I'd spend more money on food than cooking supplies. I'd get a nice large skillet (for sauteeing and cooking in pan etc.) a baking pan (for baking) a roasting pan (for roasting). A spatula, meat tongs, sharp meat knife, mincing type knife, bread knife, cutting board (could double as "rolling...
