    Yeast extraction

It's hard to ever find a write-up that isn't biased :) I believe some of my nutritional healing friends actually use yeast extract. I personally try to keep something like this out of my diet because I don't personally need more yeast in my diet (working to eliminate candida currently). I...

Cheesy flat fries Either way, I'd try it if I could eat cheese!

    Yeast extraction

Yeast Extract = MSG I think it's just bad in the fact of how it's been overly processed? It's not a naturally occurring process, so maybe some digestive systems don't recognize it.

    Trying to gain weight.

I would add in some of the starchier veggies (that way you are still consuming real foods!) So things like acorn/butternut/spagetti squash, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, etc. Get those in there with lots of leafy greens and local protein meats :pig: and you'll be golden. And eat as much as...

Need to lose some holiday pounds!!!

If you restrict your intake of processed foods, grain/gluten, and sugars for a week or two you'll definitely see some weight disappear. Especially if you're used to having those things in your diet. If you want to go the extra mile try making some broth based veggie soups and have a bowl of...

A Plea for Culinary Modernism: Why We Should Love New, Fast, Processed Food

And that's really where I've landed with life :chef: because I don't trust the processed foods out there. But I like to know WHY about these things, so I read up on as much as I can.

A Plea for Culinary Modernism: Why We Should Love New, Fast, Processed Food

Actually they will go for the grain first, I believe, just because it has a higher sugar content and is more "satiating" - however they would mostly eat grass because that's what was mostly around. If there is grain in the next field they will often push against the fence so they can reach the...

A Plea for Culinary Modernism: Why We Should Love New, Fast, Processed Food

I think that it is inevitable that we are beginning to look at all these chemicals and non-food substances in our food and getting p*ssed off about it being there when the front says "all natural". I'm 28 years old and I've been sick since I was a teenager and in the past few years I've come to...

    The Candida Cleanse Diet

I've undergone that diet plan before. I was able to solve several issues, but I still have some underlying ones. Currently I'm working to fix some endocrine and mineral imbalances to push forward with me healing. Are you doing a candida cleanse, or is there anyone else doing one?

    What is this pork cut?

I'd agree that it's most likely a shoulder However it could be a small pork butt. I'd have to see it closer and the other side. I sell pork on the weekends for a local farmer and we sell pork butts every once in awhile

    Marinating & Curing Pork

:pig::pig::pig: How Does Pork Prepared in Various Ways Affect the Blood?? I have an article I can post about this, but does anyone know about the various effects? I'm trying to come up with some good "quick cures" or "quick marinades" that I could do for my various cuts of pork. I've read that...

    Unconditional Advice Wanted

Fort Myers is exactly where I lived. Personally, I got tired of the community down there after a couple years, but you may have better luck! (I also worked like 60+hrs a week) I would hit the restaurants in the little downtown area. Anything (as someone else said) that isn't franchise. If you...

True true! :) I think I'm just looking for more clarification (above is all my grandpa gave me). I've never really baked before besides the occasional cake. I am more of a cooking person. So I'd love any advice when it comes to the little aspects of baking and what all of you have learned...

    Baking/Desserts

Is there a baking / desserts board? I couldn't find one. I am looking to begin making apple pies. My grandparents owned an apple orchard for around 50 years. My grandpa continued to make pies after my grandma died over 10 years ago. However this year he just went to his final farmers market...
