i love to make my own mushroom sauce. it's seriously the best thing i've had with gołąbki!!

anyway back on topic. i prefer my gołąbki with mushroom sauce. what does everyone else prefer - mushroom sauce or tomato sauce? also, do you make your own or buy pre-made?

i agree, this is getting into a debate about semantics, which is of course, totally off topic. i was just pointing out that it's not the correct spelling in the traditional sense. i have no issue with people using it to describe what they're cooking, but just bear in mind it's not 100% correct...

this is indeed true! i visited london quite some time ago now, and we ate at a polish restaurant called posk. no idea if it's still there, but it was very very traditional and they served all the usual polish offerings: gołąbki, pierogi (not pierogies!), borscht etc. princess fiona - do you do...

language does indeed change, however the basic construction of words and letters would take centuries upon centuries to shift so dramatically. galumpkis is the anglicised version of traditional gołąbki. i agree you are referring to the same thing, and as steve kroll points out, they all taste...

there is no way in the polish dictionary that galumpkis is correct. if you can post a link or PM me a link to a polish dictionary that says otherwise, i'm happy to stand corrected. i know my culture and how to spell gołąbki correctly.

no of course that's not what i am trying to get at. all i mean, is that GALUMPKIS looks and sounds very ridiculous. how do you even pronounce it?? for starters, when referring to a plural in polish, you don't add an "s" on the end, as the "i" that finishes the word signifies the plural term...
