    Advice on purchase of skillet

    Yes they are about twice the price compared to a "decent" non-stick, but they will only last a year or two before the Teflon show signs of flaking. These Scanpans still look new after several years (and no Teflon)....I am more than willing to pay for quality that lasts....like you said!

    Best blender/food processor for pureeing ice?

    I really like my KitchenAide blender. It has a pulse mode for ice that agitates it to keep the ice from jamming up. I had a Waring classic blender that was lousy for crushing ice and use this one for purees mostly. Love the KitchenAide.....I don't remember the model number though. Tom
