    Rotisserie Chicken thoughts?

You had me at apple cider vinegar. Edit: Just went and read the link. Can't wait to try this. Probably tomorrow night. How would I convert this down to just maybe one or two chickens, or maybe a big pack of thighs? Maybe cut it in thirds?

    Ants in the spring....

Our local appliance repair shop is like that. I call, he askes what the problem is. I explain it, he says come on in, I'll have the part on the counter. Or he'll tell me how to pull a part and I can bring it in for testing, then he'll replace it on the part I brought in.

Recommend me uses for rice flour!

I use it as a thickener. It reacts a bit different than corn starch. I can usually just pour it into my sauce dry and it mixes, unlike corn starch which can ball up.

    Club soda

I usually do club soda and cranberry juice as my evening hydration. Usually I get Safeway club soda. Just carbonated water and sodium citrate. Recently, I picked up some Shasta club soda. Jeez. What a mess. I wondered why it made my stomach feel like it was going to explode. It has...

    Liver and onions anyone?

I love liver and onions. Unfortunately, nobody else in the house does.

    Chicken gizzards anyone?

I love deep fried gizzards. My teeth no longer do though. Used to be a staple in the local gas stations and deli's. I could eat two pounds at a sitting. Dipped in sweet and sour. Yumm. I may try doing them so they are soft. I miss them.

What is your favorite basic meal?

Eating one now. In fact I was thinking of this exact thread premise. Sliced kielbasa with bbq sauce, mashed potatoes and green beans, or peas. Another is ham steaks, mashed potatoes and peas. Simple food for us simple folk.

Pan Fried Chicken Thighs tastes a lot lot better than electric grilled

I've had pretty good luck at 145. I'll check next time I do thigh's, usually one or two times a week. It is most likely, I check at 145, then go grab a tray and start pulling them. They go from 145 to 175 within a few minutes. So finished temp may be higher than 145 for sure. Main thing is...

Foods that you have to get used to the taste before you like

Sparkling water, seltzers, etc. None of them taste vary good, but I drink a lot of them. Right now, I'm drinking a Bubly caffeinated seltzer. Tastes bad, but I'm used to it. Want the caffeine, but don't want a Diet Dr. Pepper, am too lazy to make tea and hate coffee. I'm good with straight...

Pan Fried Chicken Thighs tastes a lot lot better than electric grilled

I don't use an electric grill, but the most important thing is to not over cook them. Use your rub of choice, with olive oil to bind. then cook them to 145, check with an instant read thermometer in a few spots, pull, let rest and eat. I've done fast and hot and low and slow, either seems to...

When do you use liquid smoke?

It is a staple in our house. A few drops, or even a lot of drops in baked beans works great. I might put a few drops in stir fry or most any instant pot dish. I prefer Stubbs over the Wright version. As for how much, it is preference. I've used a few drops and I've also dumped half a bottle...

How about foods you've tried once or twice that you'll never eat again.

I'll eat just about anything, though I don't try things that look too nasty. Snails, nope, not gonna do it. Mayo is a no go for me, though I don't worry if it's on something I order.. Just looks like, well, it doesn't look very appetizing. And on coffee, that's for women. I think I tried it...

    Windows 11

No issues here. Upgraded a few months ago. I don't like where the start button is, or the power button. Other than that it runs fine on my Asus laptop. Oh, the one thing I do despise, is how when using files, it doesn't have the most common tabs listed and I need to hit "Show more options"...

What kind of stove do you have in your kitchen?

I agree. Simple and it just works. Timer and self cleaning is about the only bells it has, definetly no whistles. Ours does have a digital display for oven temp, so I suppose it has a small whistle.
