Nostalgia buffs, here are the URLs for all Frozen Few competitions so far, from First Annual through Fourth Annual: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. Looking back over these comps, I think I can see a trend -- 16 entries in 2008, 17 in 2009, 6 in 2010, and 4 in 2011. --John

In today's staff meeting here at Frozen Few Headquarters, it was reported that two entries have not been received. Deadline is Tuesday midnight. The stragglers had better make their entries look good, 'cause they've got some serious competition. --John (Send to jgdouglas-AT-comcast-DOT-net)

for you CA meat and wine lovers

I haven't been on the board much because I'm supposed to limit red meat, and reading about the stuff you guys do makes me nuts. Couple weekends ago I "catered" a small gathering of bikers (to lavish praise), the first I've smoked in months. And I've assembled all the supplies and equipment --...

    Two Dry Cured Ham Projects

Michael, "D", Lynn, and Dave -- the Witts. They didn't compete this year because the boys were playing football the next day. They won. We stopped to see the Witts on our way out of town, and Dave broke out the proscuitto he'd been dry-curing for the last year. Wiping the last of the lard...

    Muffaletta binge

Thanks for the recipes, RB. The one time Jody and I split half a muffaletta (they are about the size of a skillet, after all!) at Central Market, I thought it needed more meat. Yours looks like it has a better measure of meat. Very nice job. --John
