I did the BBQ, wife did the salad/Risotto (mushrooms & sun-dried tomatoes), son did most of the eating. :) On the grill. At the turn: Plated w/risotto and salad

    Tandoori Chicken

My wife decided that she wanted some Indian food, so we got our Tandoori on.... Marinated thighs in tandoori spices, yogurt, etc., for about 8 hours. Placed on baking pan for initial indirect cooking. Cooked for about 45 minutes indirect at 375 on the grill in a baking pan (covered w/foil...

Steak reverse sear worked really well...

Did a couple of tbones reverse sear (start w/indirect, end w/sear) the other night - came out really nice. Seasoned them and put on indirect heat until temps got up to about 120. Then brushed w/a little olive oil and re-seasoned and moved to direct heat until done. Used a probe to check...

    Virgin Territory: Noob does ribs

OK...let the BBQ games begin!! Ribs removed from vacuum pack, rinsed, trimmed, and membrane removed. Rub split into four portions of 2 tablespoons for each side. Rub applied (all the oil and rubbing got me kinda going...may need to take a break and have a "nap" with my wife). ;-)...

    Soak wood chunks or not?

I've seen some variance on this topic, wanted to confirm the approach. I'm using wood chunks on the flavorizer bars on my weber grill tomorrow to smoke some ribs...do I soak the chunks before hand, and if so, for how long? At this point I'm leaning towards not soaking - as amazingribs.com...

    Favorite BBQ sauce recipe?

We like 'em on the spicy side (not painful, just a nice, pleasant burn on the lips) and not too sweet. Got any sauce recipes that fit that bill that we can try? Or a brand available nationally in store or online if you think it's particularly good.

Quickie/Easy - Cedar Plank Salmon "fast food"

Had a hankering for some fish, had little time tonight as had to go to band practice (community band) so we did a quick and easy cedar plank salmon. About 25 minutes indirect w/two burners running around 3/4 power (middle burner off). Yeah - this was a complex, labor intensive grill work...

Recommendation for smoking meat on my weber grill?

Just curious how well my weber spirit e310 will do for smoking. I have a smallish smoker box I can put in it, got some wood chips, and am hankering to try. Assuming this is a reasonable idea, any recipe recommendations for a newbie's first try would be appreciated - never smoked anything...

Shrimp Kabobs in Ginger (and garlic!) marinade - excellent!

Tried this marinade last night - it turned out excellent. Flavor is very good but not overpowering, you still get to enjoy the taste of the shrimp as well. Modifications: 1. We were rushed for time, so I skipped the cooking the marinade and basting with it. The shrimp came out crisp and...

Sage Rubbed Pork Tenderloin & Sage Butter - Family Favorite

Wish I could remember where I found this - would like to give credit where credit is due. <Edit - figured it out, was in Sunset magazine...> Family loves it. Don't make the sage butter as much any more, the pork doesn't really need it, it's very moist/tender. Sage Rubbed Pork Tenderloin...
