Is it important to wash chicken before cooking?

its the crap they feed them, offal, heads, feet etc are all ground up and mixed in the feed, poultry lacks the ability to metabolize it.

I remember when it was safe to store eggs unrefrigerated, today the salmonella is already in the egg when its laid.
That's because your probably were getting eggs straight from the farm.
Store eggs from large suppliers are washed and refrigerated ergo must continue to be refrigerated.
Farm fresh eggs never refrigerated and not washed do not need to be refrigerated.

Salmonella was always in/on the eggs. It is nothing new and has nothing to do with what they are being fed.

Our eggs are not normally refrigerated. Neither are they in Europe.
I think it is an American thing? I believe the eggs are washed?

Anyway back to chicken:
Most frozen chicken here have a little plastic bag in their cavity with the neck, liver and kindney in it.
Sometimes 2 necks and somehow that always amuses me.
Some haven't and I haven't figured out (yet) how to spot this in advance.

Yeah, true - mom's chickens had loose things in them, then later they were in little bags, usually like a parchment paper.
Turkeys came with a warning to check inside for the extra's.
