I love my KitchenAid, but I find that even with bowl scraper beaters, my butter still "pools" at the bottom of the bowl. Shown is 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter creaming about 1 minute with and without 3/4 cup sugar, and it always collects to where the beaters can't reach. I've tried softening the butter to almost melted stage, heating the bowl, etc. (which other people say work, but it doesn't work for me.). I am using the traditional lift head KitchenAid mixer, 5 QT bowl, and flex edge beater. I softened 4 oz. (1/2 cup or 1 stick) butter and combined it with 3/4 cup sugar, as per cookie recipe, but it still doesn't beat well. Am I missing something? Am I supposed to be using more butter? Any advice?

I've abandoned my KitchenAid in the past in favor of handheld beaters (for cookies and cakes, etc.), but I'm certain my KitchenAid should be able to do this task.

I use the whisk - slightly softened butter.
just keep on cranking.

'pooled' on the bottom is veddy indicative of something else wrong . . .
