Does anyone know what this or what it is used for? It is engraved "Sur la table" so I assume it is cookware of some sort. A friend was moving and gave a bunch of her kitchen things and this was in it.

My mum had one of these and so did I. They do seem to work. We just used them in the oven. Baked potatoes cooked in charcoal were always wrapped in foil to keep the ash off of them.

My mum had one of these too, when we lived in London, but it must have been made of some sort of "microwave safe material" as she used it for baking whole potatoes in the microwave, in less time than conventional ovens, which she then turned into "jacket potatoes" with cheesy fillings. 🙂
