LOL my DW is the instructor. I got certified as a DM but have not kept insurance up since she has not been doing classes. We hope to get back in the water soon now that the snow and ice have left. Next month, squid should be schooling for the spawn which is pretty awesome to witness.
yeah, my DH is a scuba instructor now (past 10 years or so). We learned here in the Texas Panhandle and did our open water at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa NM. He dove while we were in Alaska in September but I'm a cold water weenie and didn't join him on that one. He usually takes his open water students to a warm spring in Balmorreah TX which is about a 5 hour drive southwest of us. I know about that tight budget - he lost his regular income in March so we don't know when we'll be diving again! :)
Well I was certified in Ohio and cut my diving teeth in cold, dark quarries. Now, most of our diving is in cold, Puget Sound. In a rut I guess. We have been to Belize, FL Keys, cavern certified @ Ginnie Springs in FL. DW has been in grad school so the travel budget and time has been tight.
