    ISO Handicap advice

Hello everyone! Let me see if I can answer some questions. My family consists of five folks. My husband and myself and our three children. Adam just turned three on October 18th. Emily is 8 and Ally is 10. All of the kids have been cooking with me in the kitchen as soon as they were able to...

    ISO Handicap advice

I didn't know where to put this question. This seemed like the most logical place. In two weeks I will have surgery on my right shoulder and hand and will have no use of my entire right arm and hand for several weeks. I am right handed by the way. I am looking for advice or tips on how to...

    Ham with???

I have an 11.5 lb. picnic ham that needs cooking. It is not cured. Any thoughts? When I was growing up my mom always made Spanish rice with left-over ham. She'd run it through a Foley food mill to grind it up and mix it with rice, sauted peppers and onion and spaghetti sauce.

    More Zucchini Ideas

The Gianelli turkey sausage is a little bit spicy. They do have a spicy/hot version that is very spicy, but I don't use that because the kids wouldn't eat it. If I were to use regular sausage I would probably use sweet Italian, but honestly the turkey sausage has less than half the fat and...

    More Zucchini Ideas

Zucchini & Sausage Skillet Well it's harvest time in the north east and we have zucchini coming out our ears! I found this recipe, made some of my own changes to it to make it taste better and be lower in fat and so far everyone including my finicky 10 year old has liked it a lot. Zucchini &...

    Hello I am new here

Hello LEFSElover, No unfortunately my profile isn't updated. With summer here, I have had precious little time for anything that is recreational for me. I work the night shift but have three kids. The two year old goes to daycare but the eight and ten year olds have to stay home with me, so as...

    Hello I am new here

Hi there Mama It is an interesting technique - cooking pasta like risotto. It makes the dish creamy and richer than if you boiled the pasta and tossed it with the veggies. I want to try it with a tri-colored vegetable corkscrew pasta that I found in the Nature's Market place section of my local...

    Hello I am new here

I tried using the whole wheat pasta and it worked out just fine. My 10 year old LOVED it, the seven year old said it was okay, the baby didn't say "I don't like this, mommy" and my hubby said it was good. So - all in all that was a pretty good response. I used a couple tablespoons of olive oil...

    Hello I am new here

Hello simplicity, Do you also have this? I was just diagnosed last week. Any information you would care to impart would be greatly appreciated. I'm not too worried about it. I googled it and found out that the chance of having it progress to cancer is less than 1 percent. That's good. What's bad...

    Hello I am new here

Thanks Sattie. I am going to make this for dinner tonight. If I don't hear from someone saying yep it'll work fine I'm going to try it anyway. (maybe not) It has to do with starch and I think that the wheat pasta has as much starch as the regular. It's got more in it than the regular right? It...
