    Scanpan - Buyer Beware

Well just to update I now no longer have any scanpan cookware :chef:. Everything switched over to Le Chasseur and one Swiss Diamond frypan. The 'A' series which is still the latest all bubbled on me too.. I asked the store owner who gave me the refund why they still stock them and he...

    Scanpan - Buyer Beware

I wouldn't trust ANY of their cookware again LOL, at least not if I had to pay for it... If you buy one and wait 6 months or so (using it often enough) you will find out for yourself ;-) I have an 'A' range Wok and dutch oven (thats all I have now) as the distributor sent them to me free of...

    Scanpan - Buyer Beware

I don't think I am the only one! From the email I got from the local distributor: "I sympathize with the fact that you have had multiple returns on your pans and unfortunately it is something I have continually heard for nearly 3 years. " That said the frypans are better... From what I have...

Noobie chef lost in a sea of choices... please help!

Good question ;-) A recently bought the grand prix II 20cm chefs knife over the classic, as to me it felt much better.. but again that is personal preference..

    Favorite knife manufacturer?

I have recently bought new knives.. I got a Wustoff Grand Prix II chef knife (very very nice knife).. For the rest (pairer, carving, bread) I went with Andre Vierder and again am very happy with them (not as expensive as Wustoff but still v. good)..

    Scanpan - Buyer Beware

For Australians with Scampans... Even though if you send them back to Sheldon & Hammond they only exchange them for more faulty Z Scanpans, some resellers are finally providing refunds.. I took my 9lt Casarolle back today and got a credit of the full regular price to spend on whatever I...

    Andre Verdier (Sabatier) any good?

I have been looking for some new knives and most of the german brands are out of my price range, and the globals just don't feel good in my hands.. I like the feel of these Andre Verdier but can find little information on them other than they appear to be one of the true french Sabatier family...

Le Creuset or Le Chasseur (enameled cast iron cookware)

Thats around US$290... I got the Le Chassuer 6Lt online locally for AUD$127 plus AUD$5.95 for shipping... massive price difference.. Greedy importer here for Le Creuset in my opinion, not uncommon though.. Unfortunately shipping for heavy pans from the US makes ordering from the US impractical...

Le Creuset or Le Chasseur (enameled cast iron cookware)

OK first regarding Le Chassuer: I have bought a few pieces and so far so good, seem very well made and a joy to use.. So far I have the french oven (6Lt) and a milk pan, I am considering the grill and frypan.. Scanpan nonstick is junk IMHO, I have some pieces here going back for their 4th...

Crepe Pan, Non-stick or French carbon steel?

I always used a solid alluminium frypan (non coated) for crepes and it worked great...

Le Creuset or Le Chasseur (enameled cast iron cookware)

I was going to replace my junk Scanpan 4L dutch oven with a 4 or 5L cast iron french oven ;-) Le Creuset has a very good reputation and that was what I was looking at, but here (Australia) they are incredibly expenisve. The 5L round french oven is AUD$399, whereas Chasseur which says it is also...

    Scanpan - Buyer Beware

Just thought I would update this thread.. My so called 'new batch' Z stock is starting to bubble and burst (surface)... Also they changed the warranty from lifetime to 10 years with the Z stock... So I suppose I have to send it back again and get the ZX stock, and see how long that lasts...

    Scanpan - Buyer Beware

Sorry, too slow a response, but may be usefull for others. YES they are the titanium/ceramic scanpan classic series..... BTW below is the last response I got from the distributor regarding which scanpans are actually 'NOT FAULTY' If you take the pan back to a store, ask the store to open the...

    Scanpan - Buyer Beware

Well I got an email from them :-) Apparently all the pans come out of Denmark, and the faulty ones were due to a change in the manufacturing process 2 years ago, this has been fixed and all pans distributed now are using the original process... That leaves a lot of faulty pans out there on...
