    This is an interesting discussion. Nice to see everyone sharing their thoughts! For all of you guys and gals who own western (German) knives, I am interested to know what angle you sharpen them at? I've seen some guys go all the way down to 15 degrees. Do you guys stick to the 20 or no?

    If you're looking for an electric sharpener that makes use of a belt as an abrasive, you may want to check out the Ken Onion Work Sharp or even the electric knife and tool sharpener from Work Sharp. It's not like the staged traditional electric knife sharpeners that everyone is familiar with :smile:

    You may want to do a quick google search of the term "Moleta". These are the guys who immigrated from Italy to the USA and had their knife sharpening business where they had these grinding wheel to sharpen people's knives.

    I think to properly sharpen serrated knives requires lots of patience. I personally would refrain from using pull throughs or electric knife sharpeners. There are sharpening rods by DMT made specifically to sharpen serrations. That's what I think you need. The best way is to go through each...

    As someone else mentioned it before, you will want to hone your knives frequently. I'd even go the extent of saying you should hone before every meal prep. Buy a steel honing rod and search up "how to hone correctly" on YouTube. And please don't watch the Gordon Ramsay video, as he has no clue...

    -8C. Pretty cold here and we even had some snow last night. I wish summer was here already!

    Breakfast for me consists of a glass of green smoothie (kale, spinach, berries usually) and a fibre bar for the road. When I get to work i'll usually grab a coffee about an hour later. That's it! Pretty boring compared to everyone else right?
