LOL! I understand that. I used to think the same. So never say never! ?

Wednesday 12/14/2016 What's on the menu?

I heated up a Trader Joe's vegan tikka masala and, for the first time in my life, I roasted Brussel sprouts. I hated sprouts as a kid. I would have to have them every Christmas day. Now I actually cook them for myself. It's funny how our tastes change as we get older!

This is a sunset I took a couple of months ago. One of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen.

What are your favorite diabetic snack foods?

One of my favourite snacks is peanut butter on toast. I try to limit that to days when I work out due to the high calorie count. It tastes better after exercise anyway!

    Type II Diabetes

Another type two diabetic here. I was diagnosed in August 2008 and put on Metformin right away. My fight against the disease went up and down until December 2014 when my A1C was 7.2 and the doctor wanted to put me on a second medication. I don't remember what it was called but when I checked...

Thank you. I'll be haunting the healthy food forums from now on getting ideas. Getting healthy is not the easiest thing but it's definitely much easier when you see dramatic results.

What is your weather like right now?

We had a blizzard a week ago. Since then the weather has been on the mild side. We even got into the mid 50's today. As far as I'm concerned an early spring would be more than welcome now even though this has been the mildest winter I can remember.

Dinner Monday, 2-1-2016 ~ Is it February ALREADY???

I made a nice healthy stir-fry tonight. Well, healthy-ish. I cooked spinach with Trader Joe's frozen rice, black beans, cauliflower, and meatless beef strips. It came out pretty good.

LOL> I think I was happy because for the first time I was able to shovel the snow without getting out of breath or having palpitations. I went on a health journey in 2015, losing over 30 lbs and I started running. I'm definitely much fitter than I used to be and it really showed when it came...

This is my first time attempting to upload a photo on this site so I hope it works. This is me after shoveling two feet of snow a week ago!

    Who's Trying to Lose Weight?

Yeah, exercising is a good way to increase your calorie allowance for the day. Especially running.

    Who's Trying to Lose Weight?

Hi, I'm a type 2 diabetic who has lost over 30 lbs and gotten off diabetes meds through watching what I eat and exercising. Does anyone belong to MyFitnessPal? I use the calorie counter on that site. I'm looking to step things up and start cooking healthier meals at home. Which is what...
