Hard anodized wok: 'Non-stick' does that mean I can't use a metal spoon?

Teflon will outgass around 600 degrees and mild flue like symptoms have been reported. Your cooking oil, lard or shortning will have reached it's smoke point between 350-425 degrees and the smoke produced will have killed your birds long before you reach the teflon's ourgassing temperature.

Hard anodized wok: 'Non-stick' does that mean I can't use a metal spoon?

Nonstick and wok are two words that usually don't go well togather. Wok cooking requires extreme high heat that would probably destroy the nonstick surface. Now if you're using it for it for stir-fry that's probably OK.

    Nonstick cookware maintenance

Wash them in warm soapy water. Some only wipe thiers off but that dosn't sound like a very good practice to me. The only nonstick I use a wet towel to clean are the George Foreman grills and that's be cause they aren't emersable.

I don't have a CI grill pan but I do have a Calphalon hard anodized and an Anolon hard anodized with nonstick cooking surface plus a De'Longhi electric grill and much prefer using the De'Longhi. It heats rapidly and I really like that it has a lid. It's also great great for slow cooking baby...

    Non Stick Cookwares

I have no use for cast iron cookware. We usually had a few pieces of cast iron but found they were'nt being used so we gave it away except for an eight inch skillet I saved to use for making cornbread until found I prefered Pyrex for cornbread and gave that one away also. I recently purchased...

    Non Stick Cookwares

The oil or shortning that is used for cooking, in any type cookware, will reach it's smoke point at a much lower temp than the danger point of teflon cookware and be just as harmeful to your birds and others but the "don't use teflon" people completely ingore this. So if you're worried about...
