I just lost my Mom 2 months ago....this has been a very hard time of year for me. Thank you for posting that.

    Can I Freeze Liverwurst?

That is the way I used to get too, sugarbrown. The problem back then was my daughters love the stuff as much as DH and I; so it never lasted long.

    Top Chef Season 3

IC, I think you should be a guest judge on the show!! Really......I agree with all you said above and was thinking along the same lines (albeit in much simpler terms as I know I am not a chef-just a darn good cook). I was thinking it would be Howie or Joey last night before Sandee; but do agree...

Hold her Newt, she's a rearin'

Buck and mudbug, both of you have me a-laughing!!! Buck, My great-Grandfather is the human on the left with the reins. the other human is a family friend that may be a distant relative; I got to dig a bit farther in the family archives. Although from the little bit in the photo, I do like the...

Hold her Newt, she's a rearin'

Thought I would add this photo of my great-Grandfather (on the left) and a family friend. This was taken in 1909 in an Oklahoma oil field.

Hold her Newt, she's a rearin'

I also heard it that way too; most times it was just "Hold her, Newt!" My Grandmother was always calling us kids "Frick and Frat" usually when she suspected we were up to mischief.

Hold her Newt, she's a rearin'

I was told that "Hold her Newt, don't let her rare" referred to the person holding the reins in a buckboard/buggy/wagon. You definitely did not want to have one of the horses rare when they were hooked up!

What is 'normal cooking" in a pressure cooker?

It should read "cool" not "cook." Looks like a typo in the manual; I have the same pressure cooker. You have been doing it the right way!!

    Zucchini

My Grandmother would make a zucchini pickled relish that she made the same way she would sweet relish. It was sooooo good!! She also made them the way Katie's brother does.

    Top Chef Season 3

I saw that with Tre and Hung; about being able to see someone with true cooking talent too. I have to say that it did impress me somewhat (may have been a tactic, too) with Hung having Tre taste what he was making. So far, Hung has not proved to be the "annoying, arrogant, egotisical sob" that I...

    Total Panic!

I bet you do have 2 butts in that package!! I buy them here like that. You could wrap and freeze one of them without smoking it; unless you want to do that. $1.40 a lb. is a very good price!

    Total Panic!

I would do as the others have said and cut it into half, at least. I do that when I am making tamales and end up with one the size you have.
