Any tips for a smelly fridge?

I'm all out of baking soda, so I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get rid of a bad smell in the fridge. I spilled some sauce with vinegar, and was too slow to clean it up. Now every thing smells funny. Any ideas?

    Say thanks to the troops

Wow, what a great thing to do. I don't know anyone serving, but that doesn't mean I don't care. No matter what one believes about the government or reasons for the war, you can't deny that our soldiers are risking their lives for us. God bless them. And thanks for the link!

Do you 'really' enjoy this time of year?

I do like this time of year. I love wearing sweaters! The only things I'm really missing are insulation and central heating. Other than that, I do enjoy fall/winter. I'm very light-skinned, so I really shun the sun. Winter is great for staying indoors.

    No Water? I'm going crazy!

Yes! Its back. Took a nice long hot shower! Got to go put some laundry on. Unfortunately there is still a bit of a leak, but hopefully, it will dry up. I'm so happy to have it back. Thanks for all of your well-wishing!

    No Water? I'm going crazy!

Ok, we had to get the water shut off to fix a leaking cistern on the roof. Ugh. They said they were coming yesterday, so I didn't do the laundry that I needed to do yesterday. And guess what, they didn't show up until today. So now I really need to do laundry (and other cleaning, dishes etc.)...

    Breadmakers anyone?

I also had a problem with humidity affecting the final product. So many loaves I messed up, not realizing what the problem was. I don't use a scale, but I monitor the mixing closely and add either flour or water to get the desired consistency of dough. Also, my main reason for loving my...

    Trivia 11/28

I loved Dahl's books. The Witches, Mathilda, and Boy were my favorites. I never read James and the Giant Peach though.

    Just noticed something....

You'd be surprised how many famous actors voice commercials, even in the states, without showing their faces. The voices are so familiar to us that we trust them and go out and buy the products, at least thats what the advertisers hope for :D

    Cooking Culture Shock

Anyone else move to a different country and find it hard to figure out what to cook for a while? I'm from Texas, but currently living in Mexico. We live an hour away from Wal-Mart, which has the most variety of different foods. The local grocery store has considerably less. Every time I head...

Condolences to Dove, her beloved son John passed at 2:40 Nov 13/07

O dear, words can't describe how one feels in that situation. All that I can offer are my condolences, albeit late. I sincerely hope that you are able to receive some comfort in this time of sorrow. Just remember that God is with you, as are our prayers.

Have you ever cooked using your car's engine?

I've thought about it, but never done it. I did hear that it was possible. It just seems like a bit of a hassle when short on time on a long trip.

What's for dinner tonight, the 28th of November

Last night I made some chicken soup with vegetables, quite a bit actually, so all I need to do is make some more rice to go with it. Delicious leftovers.
