CA - San Francisco?
We just a week in SF over Xmas... and found it to be indeed a truly great city! Agreed, we didn't find much of interest (except the history itself) at Fisherman's Wharf. (The only thing I felt I missed there was the fresh crab at the stands.) Spent the week walking and walking... goggling...
