    Best Food Processor?

Thank you everyone for your help. I have decided to go with this one: Bed Bath & Beyond Product It is a KitchenAid 12 cup with a bunch of accessories that I think he will like, plus an accessory carrier so they don't get lost in our drawers! I went to our local BB&B store, and the manager there...

    Best Food Processor?

Thanks Uncle Bob and Mama and EssieBunny. I suppose I should have been more specific about what I am using it for. He has a bread machine that takes care of his dough needs, so this is mainly for chopping, slicing, dicing, making soups, smoothies, that kind of thing. So I just need to make sure...

    Best Food Processor?

Thanks everyone for the info! Sounds like I can't go wrong with either KitchenAid or Cuisinart products. I will take a look at their websites, as was suggested, and pick which model from each I like. Then go shopping online and off and try and narrow it down to just one! Second question, what...

    Best Food Processor?

If anyone could please help out - I need recommendations on the best food processor available - around 12 cup capacity. Most concerned about whether most of the parts are made out of metal as opposed to plastic and how durable the motor is. I'm looking to spend up to around $200, perhaps...

    Snickerdoodles

HA I made the cherry chip cake cookies with coconut and they are really good, I was thinking what would make them better is to add some almond extract, walnuts and maraschino cherry juice next time. My other idea is to buy angel food cake mix and create a macaroon by adding coconut and almond...

    The Coffee Thread!

Are you an American or Brit? My mother was British - and oddly enough - I never once saw her drink a cup of tea. Our house, growing up, the adults each had their own respective caffeine addiction - coffee for the gasp, British mother and black tea (with a little fresh mint) predictaby for my...

What are you going to cook on Mother's Day?

Dave, Full as I am from DH's dinner, that swiss steak, vegis and cookies look really tasty! and so pretty to look at. DH - true to his word - cooked me up a wonderful Thai meal even though he had a cold and wasn't feeling too well. He even went to the grocery store to buy the last few...

Putting in a garden to help

Went to a client's house today to weed and noticed the rhubarb was huge - lucky me, my client let me help myself to a good dozen stalks. I made rhubarb cobbler this evening. Nothing beats fresh veggies & fruit right of the garden. I can't wait to plant our vegetable bed but I have to wait...

    Economizing

It's so mobbed up around here - the politicians would never stand for it. It's a great idea though. Sad thing is, most Americans, will probably take their tax rebate checks and turn around a put most of it in the pockets of the oil companies and politicians to buy gas.

IL - Chicago .. Top downtown restaurants?

I just saw this thread - funny enough I used work in the same building as the 'Tru' - all the windows were blacked out (so you couldn' see in) and the waiters dressed like unemployed actors. We went to Arun's once year's ago - only to discover they didn't open until 5 PM. Bummer, still meaning...

To the later threads - thank you for the warm welcome it's great to be here. Dave - I try and get Buddy more vegetarian things. I'm not a vegetarian, I just prefer not to eat meat everyday. It makes me too lathargic if I do which can't be a good thing. Once in awhile I like to make Kugel (I...

Referring to the clothes issue: Our washing machine is still working but we've been hanging our clothes out on the line since the end of Feburary. Initially, we had to hang them in the house in the basement during the winter because Mav (DH) isn't allowed exert himself because of his heart...

On the food front, to cope, we both cut our eating so (the idea hopefully) is that we're buying less groceries and thus spending less. I was just watching Anthony Bourdain's show yesterday - it happened to profile the island of Crete - said to have's the world's healthiest cuisine. Supposably...

I'm always busy washing dishes - we haven't had a dish washer in 8 years. I'm the chief dishwasher followed by my 3 minions. In fact, there's at this moment more - not too many but there are some.

    Who loves their job/career?

Ha - I've finished munching on salad. I bill myself as a 'professional gardener' rather then a run of the mill landscaper. I happen to be lucky enough to do what I love now and live within a close commute (what with gas prices now) of several well healed areas in the Chicago area. It's sort...

Hello, Some of you will figure out who I am by my user name - I am Maverick's wife, real name Serena.
