Thanks! I plan to prepare better next time, once I replace the dehydrator.

I love my Naga Morich peppers. :D

Now, while I messed up big on the dehydrating of the other peppers, I have very much enjoyed the Nagas I have grown. They are much more potent than I expected, and I have been asked not to process them in the house without adequate ventilation again. I have four bottles of a bare apple cider...

My Disaster with the Nevco Dehydrator

Howdy all, I've been having Internet issues lately, and some crazy car issues after an accident (my first) so I've been totally off the radar here. Several weeks back I made a valiant effort to dry a ton of peppers I had from my plants, and was given by a friend in town. I thought the machine...

Found you via Google, should prove interesting.

Before the California coast broke off into the ocean you mean. My wife will never allow us to move back there no matter what sort of job I managed to get. She is terrified of earthquakes.

Well, if you promise not to tell anyone...I was born/raised in California, moved to upstate NY in junior high, and moved here to NC after high school. So I'm not a home-grown Tar Heel.

    How do you keep seeds?

Very interesting. I won't have anywhere to plant tomatoes for a long while but it is good to know. :)

    Naga Morich/Bhut Jolokia Experiences?

I guess I am. I enjoy curry a good deal also. They are not all heat like a concentrated sauce and get hotter for a while, then back off and cool down. Not a bad flavor though not for everyone. :)

    Naga Morich/Bhut Jolokia Experiences?

I was curious how many of you have grown this pepper, by its various names, here in the States? I sometimes see it listed as grown by pepperheads on other forums but it's my first year growing them and I thought I'd get other people's impressions of them. I bought some of the Naga Snake Bite...

Starting from Seeds - need help

@Callisto in NC I'm not a pro, but from reading your posts I can offer what worked for me this year that I read elsewhere. If you have especially hard to germinate seeds or you spent a bit on them and do not want to have them be duds you can always start them in moistened paper towels in a...

    Harvesting Cayenne Peppers

Thank you everyone for mentioning the sewing trick. My buddy who showed me everything else pepper planting wise said to tie them together but sewing them up in a chain sounds great. I have so many cayennes to dry it isn't even funny.

    Harvesting Cayenne Peppers

Oh, you think those hiccups are bad, you should have seen the hiccups I got from the rice vinegar, dill, garlic powder, sea salt, dorset naga morich sauce I made up to go with my dinner. I love these peppers so much though.

    How do you keep seeds?

I also have been saving seeds this year from my peppers grown and peppers eaten. I am hoping to save plenty of the patio bells, naga morich, and poblanos though we shall see. I have put aside patio bell, cayenne, and new mexico peppers, and poblanos so far, and have to dry more seeds out when...

Howdy folks, My name is rAy and I'm from North Carolina. I am a very basic cook overall but I learn more all the time. My favorite things to cook include manicotti, hot sauces, and various chicken and shrimp dishes. I started growing my own peppers this year for use in pico de gallo...
