    Shrimp Portofino

    I too want to thank you for this wonderful recipe. I have made it twice and will make it again and again. I too found the lemon to be too much the first time so I reduced it to 1/8 cup and added 1/4 cup chicken broth. I also add a tad more cream. It is absolutely perfect. Thanks so much! :chef:

    Mise en place - 'getting your mess in place'!

    I too take everything out and put it on the counter where I am assembling my dish:chef: . As I add an ingrediant I put it away (I do this especially when I am baking) that way I do not have to wonder if I added that ingrediant if I get distracted.

    I bought the extended warrenty and never used it. That thing is a work horse. Also you might want to check e-bay. I just bought a factory refurbished 5 speed blender new in the box for $49.90 with shipping.:chef: Kitchen aid also has a store on e-bay.

    My local Costo now carries Le Creuset. They have the 1 qt saucepan and they also have a set of 2 baking dishes. The 1 qt was $36 and the 2 baking dishes were $89. :chef: Thought you might want to know.

    I also read on another thread that it will spoil if you use butter with no salt in it. I use mine with salted butter and change the water every couple of days.:chef:

    Well I ordered it. I did go on a couple of web sites. The prices are comparable to Le Creuset. The Staub company has been in business for quite some time. I will let you all know in a couple of weeks how I like it. Thanks for your input.:chef:

    My grandma also made this dish. I remember her frying it in a pan and we would add butter and syrup. I also remember small bits of meat in it although I do not remember asking her what kind it was. I think pork. Good post.

    Like most of you I use Tupperwear. A few years ago I sold Tupperwear. You guessed it. I have a container for everything. I especially like the fact that they stack and they came with labels so everything in my pantry is neat and labeled. I love it!:tongue:
