Putting in a garden to help

We put in a garden every year and this year is no exception!! We always plant tomatoes, basil, zuchinni and crookneck squash. This year I'm adding eggplant and bush beans. I also have a year round herb garden. Most of the herbs make it through the winter here, but some don't and I just replace them.

In need of improvement... Greek salad

It sounds good they way you have it listed, but you could always add some garbonzo beans and keep with the Greek theme thing. I like lemon juice rather than vinegar, but that's just my personal taste. I also make a "Greek" salad using alot of the things you listed plus some orzo pasta and...

    Lemon Pips in preserves?

The only recipe I've ever used for marmalade that called for using the "pips" is one for Meyer Lemon Marmalade. That recipe says to soak the pips in cheesecloth overnight with the sliced lemons and water. Other recipes I've used for non-Meyer lemons didn't say to do that. I always thought...

Cooking Chinese at home - why is it so often a pale imitation?

I love Chinese food too and I've found that it's usually the recipes - not the temperature of the pan that were lacking. I've cooked on both electric and gas. I've found a couple that work for me and I learned through experience that I need to have the correct ingredients. The cookbook that I...
