What is your favorite item to dry in your dehydrator?

Just the red flesh. I do some pretty big pieces. Roughly 1/2x6x2 inches. Whatever works for you. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I don't remove the seeds! The seeds get dried and they are quite enjoyable. Not to mention, a good conversation piece ;-)

What is your favorite item to dry in your dehydrator?

Watermelon is a big hit! I gave some to my neighbors and they thought it was store bought! I see that some like to get water off the slices, but I don't bother. To me, that is part of the flavor of the slices. They do take a bit of time to finish. Work on something like a 1/2 inch slices.

Asian pears, pineapples and watermelons. Asian pears are tops! EDIT: Man I got a note from this site to comment here. I already commented, #37. Sorry here, but I guess I'm just going to leave this one.

Any recommendations for left-over roasted chicken?

LOL, no not sorry. I enjoyed reading everyone of them, and of course, some more than others. I wish I saved the carcasses. I threw both away before posting, so I won't do that again! I really liked the idea of a Chinese Chicken Salad. I'll divide the chicken 3 ways and use 2 portions for...

Any recommendations for left-over roasted chicken?

I just bought a couple of roasted chickens done at my local supermarket that were on special. I ended eating half of one. So I have 1 and 1/2 chickens left over that has been cleaned. I know there's tons out there for recipes but I thought I'd solicit recommendations here. Would be kinda...

What is your favorite item to dry in your dehydrator?

Asian pears and watermelons. Separately, not necessarily together. Jerky is good too, just haven't found that good recipe yet.

    Any tips to drying watermelon?

These silicon sheets ended up being not too bad. I put the sheets on all my trays to see how much of the air was being blocked. Yeah there was some blockage, but that wasn't really that bad of a scenario. It blocked some of the air, but that also meant that the heat was kinda trapped too. So...

    Any tips to drying watermelon?

I got these sheets today. I'll setup some watermelons to dry this weekend. Seems like these sheets stop alot of the airflow. I might angle towards getting something that's a little more open. Any feedback?

    Any tips to drying watermelon?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention these sheets. These sheets looks really promising! The ones you linked sounds like a good place to start. I'll order these now. I want to catch the last of the local watermelons, which seems to be for a couple of more weeks. Thanks for everyone's input on this and...

    Any tips to drying watermelon?

Thanks for the replies! Some great links too! @ karadekoolaid, I did start out with the easier fruits. One of my favorite is Asian pears. Fuji apples are good too. @blissful, watermelon seems to be a big hit with me and friends. I like the tip on drying the the fruit out before setting...

    Any tips to drying watermelon?

Hello, I'm new to this site and kinda new to dehydrating food. One item that seems to be a "mess" is watermelons. After drying, the trays seem to be pretty sticky and I'm thinking there's got to be a better way. I don't really want to change the taste of pure watermelons, but I'm thinking...
