"i'm quite knackered myself. over the last month or so, i've worked 1 week of days, 2 weeks of midnights, 1 week of days, and i'm back on the midnight shift again. next week, back on days." Sounds exhausting, Solution.... Put on you whistle and flute, head of down the frog and toad and grab...

    Asian Sauces & Marinades

I have just had time to sit and look at your recommendations. I think that I probably phrased my post a little obscurely. It is not recipes that I am looking for ( I have a good collection of recipes on the subject). it is more specialized books that I am seeking, for instance I use books like...

Hand mixer with a dough hook attachment?

For the life of me I can not see, or imagine, how on earth it would work. I make bread on an almost daily basis (I use my KA), and am sitting here trying to form a picture in my head of me using a hand held dough hook when even my KA gets warm from the effort......is it just me :ermm:

    White dust on my jars

I agree with everybody else that has posted. I also understand that it bug,s you knowing it is there. sometimes that nagging feeling drives you nuts. The only real way of dealing with the problem (if it is a real issue with you ) is to fit a water softener. I know it is not related (cooking...

    My bread blow by blow

I have been making bread for many years and will ever find it a pleasure. In our house nearly everything is made from scratch. I am fortunate that I have the time (or make the time) and inclination to have an intense interest in what I and my family eat. This is “Shambles” staple bread and the...

    Demi-glace from scratch

I made brown stock (Espagnole sauce) yesterday and it is reducing as I type. It is one of those jobs that I seem to put of because of the time constraints, and yet once I put my mind to it I am in seventh heaven. It is often referred to as liquid gold. I am not sure if it can be bought in the...

    Kitchen Aid

Corey It is for holding in the bar at the pivot point (when you lift up the mixer head), I think it should have had some form of loctite applied in the factory. It seems that mine missed that vital bit of wizardry.
