I don't know what category this goes under, so Im putting it here.

I had the opportunity to go out yesterday evening and pick a bag-full of shaggy meins, a mushroom of the inky cap variety. I cooked up one this morning and was blown away by the wonderfully intense flavor. I am looking forward to tonight's meal, though I'm not quite sure what to do with them yet.

If anyone has any exemplary suggestions and are familiar with these beauties, send me some suggestions.

Oh, and don't even think about adding any ingredients liek wine, that would mask the natural flavor of thes shrooms.

I love shaggy manes--don't see them down here, but I used to pick them in Minnesota. I like the stems just sauteed in a little butter--they taste like asparagus to me.

Tops make a mean mushroom soup.
