You can find these by using your character map too if you don't have this list in front of you

Click on:
Start
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
Character Map

It's really neat to use - some of them you will remember - especially the "degree" symbol (hold down alt and hit 0176)

really interesting to find out how to do all these.

Gobo, maybe a little more explaination for what these are for. I know what you are getting at, but a lot of people will have no idea what you mean by alt combos with no further explaination.

Press and hold the ALT key then type the 4 digit code listed above, then let the ALT key go.

pds - say you want to type 350 degrees but use the little circle instead of typing out degrees - type 350 then hold down the Alt key while pressing 0176 - then let go - you should have the circle there. My keyboard is acting up and won't let me do it - what's up with that?
