George Carlin died this weekend

Very interesting story about his life on the news this morning. He was spot on concerning most topics, I thought. He got lots of people thinking about social issues by making them laugh and learn at the same time.

Too bad, he'll be missed. While his early stuff was always funny, it was his most recent tirades that had me cracking up.

I saw that just before I left the house. George will be missed. You laugh at his jokes, then all of a sudden go, Whoa! Wait a minute.

How do you mean? By considering that he may be speaking of something you've seen or done? I found that, myself, at times

Wow! This is a Monday morning shocker. I think it was just announced last week that he was going to be receiving the Mark Twain award for lifetime achievement in comedy too. How very sad.

Really, I didn't know that about the award. I'd forgotten about the childrens' show he used to host...

Sort of like that, I tend to be oblivious to way more things than I should. He would make a comment, it would seem funny, and then after it sunk in, I would say Yes, folks do that and it's not right. Then you are thinking about the meaning of what he said.

I think that might have been his mission. He pointed out a lot of things that needed to be changed, but, he made us laugh doing it.

Am I amking sense? Hope so - AC

We saw him in concert once, and my dad had several of his albums when I was growing up. Definitely a voice that will be missed. He was a great comedian/social commentator.
