How old is discuss cooking, and what inspired this website?

It was created in 2002 I believe. And I couldn't tell you the inspiration other than people love to cook!

Yep, it was 2002. A man named Geoff from the UK grabbed a bunch of good domain names back then.

Wow I don't even remember it looking like that. I joined circa early-mid 2003 I believe. I think the site looked different from that link you posted.

I've been impressed by this site since the first time I looked it over. It's very organized and well-put-together. It was a little hard for me to fit in at first, but once you all decided I was OK, it's been great. I have made a lot of dear friends here, and learned a lot as well.
It's a real trip for a small-town girl to get to talk with people all over the world. Not only do I get to learn your methods of cooking, but I get geography lessons on the side.

That link was from November, 2002 when this site just started. Maybe Kitchenelf would remember it back then.
