Sorry Pac. I was being lazy and didn't check. I'm using 3.0 under Edit Options. At the very bottom of all the edit options is a check box to turn off the right hand column. It's right under the option for version 1.0 or 3.0.

I found the option to turn the sidebar on and off.
I think I will stick with Off.
