If you have nonstick pans, don't buy a metal spatula that will scratch them. For my nonstick pan I use a silicon spatula, and for my stainless steel pots and pans I just use either tongs if its a big something like chicken breast, or a plastic spatula. A spatula is a spatula really. The only size difference I've seen in spatula's that is obvious are pancake flipping spatula's, which are huge.
