...lala land..............
Just bought a new/used cookbook that I've been delving through.
I am going to make these as I can sleep then wake up to cookies.
So, it's not my recipe it's from the best seller in Canada:
"Eat Your Heart Out"
"Sleeping Cookies"

I've been informed by a Moderator that this infringes on copyright laws and have been asked to remove. So, that said, forgive any wrong doing
and so, with respect to the Mods, I'm sorry I posted this, never meant to do anything wrong.

but I respect the law, so pooooooooooooooooooooooof and it's gone.......

These are often called "Forgotten Cookies". My neighbor made them every year.

For people who are on gluten-free diets (and/or for people who like baked meringue), this is a wonderful recipe!

Oh, good job Lee.
I think I'll try these tonight and wake up happier.
I'm not gluten intolerant and do love meringues.
This may just be a winner.

There is another cookie that looks real good to me too.
Wonder if I can find it in this cookbook again.
I'll see, if I find it, I'll post that too.

Ok, found it, it's called Magic 6 way Cookies, I'll post in original thread.

Mom had a similar recipe ( no chocolate chips) that she made every year as a big bowl for Passover. Then just before time to serve it, she would fill the bowl with vari-colored sorbets for a beautiful, Pesadichy dessert. Everyone loved it much better than the "sandy" sponge cakes.

It was caled "Forgotten Torte."

I have a similar recipe that is made the evening before Easter - each step symbolizes something from Easter story and corresponds with a pasage from the bible - it is a good thing to do with the kids.

My Mom has always made those forgotten cookies with the chocolate chips, no nuts...
but I've been on a kick lately where I replace vanilla extract in everything with almond...
OH MY GOODNESS!
It's really good that way, I can't stop!

Babetoo, I'm going upstairs right now and will pm it to you.
SQ, guess who bought a new little bottle yesterday of Almond extract?
Yep, me. My original only had literally drops left in it.
I absolutely agree about the difference.
I'll make these today and why not, hubby won't be home for ever.
