Days are longer now, by about an hour. Earth's spinning is slowing down, owing mostly
to the moon's pull. This means that every 1 million years, about 16 seconds are added to
the length of the day.
The very gradual slowing down of the earth might eventually cause it to stop spinning
entirely, but fortunately not for billions of years.
