Very simple meal tonight: a burger with an egg on top. There was a salad, too, but I finished that while the burger was cooking.

We had late lunch again today, after a long meeting with our construction manager ...

For DH (the far plate that's almost finished ) :
Tomato, Cuc and Onion salad with Anchovies
For my plate:
Green Salad with Cuc and crumbled Gorgonzola Cheese
both salads are dressed in Homemade Vinaigrette.
On both plates:
Trader Joe's Spizzico di Pizza; his with more anchovies and fresh Basil,
mine have just the Basil.
... and a glass of vino for moi (what?! it was after 12 o'clock) :
Oh yeah, dinner, well, I do have a BIG pot of Beef Stew that I made yesterday along with freshly made steamed white rice;
we may or may not get to it tonight.
But I do know that there will be dessert, imitation Samoa Girl Scout cookies from Walmart (don't knock it they're cheap and good )
Aldi's has Fake Scout cookies that are so close to the real deal I really don't want to spend $$$ on the authentic ones. However, our daughter is a co-leader of a troop with her BFF, so we bite the bullet and order 4 or 5 boxes every year.
The Keebler versions are really good knock-offs, too. Then again, Little Brownie Bakers are a subsidiary of Keebler. I always thought that GSUSA switched off between Little Brownie Bakers and ABC Cookies each year. Turns out each local council decides on which baker to use. Here's the LA Times article that shows which baker makes GS cookies in your area, and how each of the different baker's cookies compare to the other.
6 Girl Scout cookies you thought you were getting but you aren't
I just love this thread. So many wonderful looking and sounding dinners, and I'm constantly inspired by everyone's meals.
de aquerdo muy emfatico.......do agree most whoeheartedlly though `i think `i blew the emfatico as `i don't think it's spelled tht way but you get the gist!!!I couldn't agree more Cheryl! For me, this daily thread is what "Discuss Cooking" is meant to be, and I always appreciate the contributions.
