    Cilantro, I love you.

I'm in Tampa, FL and I've been growing basil, Italian flat and curly parsley, chives, rosemary and dill for quite a while. I bought cilantro plants twice -- the first time a cilantro-loving armadillo ate the whole darn plant and didn't bother any of the others. The second time it just withered...

What drink to order at 5-star restaurant

Definitely get a nice glass (or two of wine) with dinner. After dinner, sip a Grand Marnier or have a coffee with Frangelico in it (yum, love that hazelnut liquor). Looks like a VERY nice place. Enjoy!

    A Salad with Thanksgiving Dinner?

Hello, Does everyone make a green/tossed salad to go along with the turkey dinner at Thanksgiving? I used to do it because daughter-in-law is so picky that she didn't eat anything except turkey and rolls. So, I made a tossed salad because I knew she'd eat that. Well, they can't be here...

    Cilantro, I love you.

I LOVE cilantro. My DH doesn't and so I have to sneak it into recipes. I make a mean taco salad that he loves and put a healthy dose of cilantro in it -- that's about the only time he actually likes it.

    What's wrong with my basil?

Basil Thanks everyone. Yes, I live in Tampa. It's been cool here in the a.m. lately, but I had basil problems before the temperature change. I think I may have planted a different variety, like someone here said, or I may not have watered it enough. Plus, I guess this isn't the best time...

    Greetings from sunny Costa Rica.

White House Richard, The White House looks like Tara! I wonder if it's the same place, just renovated and with different owners. It is beautiful, and just as I remember the views. And, we stopped at the Tabacon Resort too, on our way to Arenal. I love your country! Thanks, SunnyFL/Rosann

What is for dinner Friday, Nov. 21st?

Stone Crab Claw Report Well, I made a nice mustand dipping sauce, and melted some lemon butter, and steamed those stone crab claws. BUT, WE NEEDED A FREAKING HAMMER TO GET THEM OPEN!!! I HAD SET OUT "NUTCRACKERS", BUT WE SOON REALIZED THAT WASN"T GOING TO DO THE JOB. A LOT OF WORK, BUT THEY...

    Greetings from sunny Costa Rica.

Tara Hi Richard, About 10 or so years ago, when my now husband and I visited San Jose (before embarking on a trip through parts of Costa Rica that I will never forget), he asked our hotel manager what was the most romantic place he could suggest for dinner. He said "TARA". So, we took a...

    What's wrong with my basil?

Last year, I grew some beautiful sweet basil -- big, broad leaves, wonderful taste. Recently, I've planted several basil plants and the basil is very tiny-leaf and very bitter tasting. What's wrong? Hope this isn't a "dumb-blonde" question. Thanks

    Questions about "The Bird"

Frozen turkey? I plan on making about a 12-14 turkey and am wondering -- if I buy one frozen solid how long does it take to thaw in the refrigerator. I mean, today is Friday, if I buy one over the weekend and put it in the refrig -- will it be okay to cook on Thanksgiving Day? I know it will...
