    Ceviche

I love Ceviche, either with or without fish. But I do like the "out back" method of just using canned tuna. That way I don't have to worry about pickling. I think restaurants use Tilapia, don't they? I recently had a huge serving of Campechana.... now, THAT'S my favorite. Never thought...

    Best recipe for burgers

I'll start off by saying, HOLY MOLY, NOW I WANT A BURGER! I used a recipe that called for one egg blended into the meat mixture...along with some other seasons...then a splat of butter was pressed into the patty and then cooked either in a pan or on a grill. And I must say....DEEEEEEEELISH.

    Tofu.....what to do?

Here in L.A (where it's hip to be healthy, but hardly anybody does it) you can find tofu in most markets. I got mine for just over a buck for what is easily a 3 serving portion for me. I stir fried some up with mushrooms and served over steamed rice and it was great. I've got more at home...

    Quakes and shakes

Oh, I felt it, and I was in Hacienda Heights. It rollllllllled. But had I not been sitting down, I probably wouldn't have felt it...who knows. I've been through many earthquakes, and they never get any easier to deal with.

    Tofu.....what to do?

So I bought some Oyster sauce and stir fried it up with some veggies and rice, and LET ME TELL YOU........ yum. Totally ok with the texture...it absorbed much of the flavor from the sauce, even my 7 year old ate it.

    Tofu.....what to do?

No, I've had it prepared in Asian dishes (fast food Chinese) and liked it for the most part. I saw it at the market for $1 and wanted to try it - I also had dental work done that made chewing difficult ;) I've printed a couple recipes from online, they seem simple enough. We'll see. Thanks!

    What's the deal with wine?

    What's the deal with wine?

Try it all. Start sweet if you find it easier to drink. Chablis Blanc's are good...on the sweeter side I've found. Some Sauvignon Blancs are also...Bella Serra has a real nice Pinot Grigio...mild and affordable... I recently bought a Red Rose which was great. Kinda like fruit punch. ;) I...

    Good ole Chicken Noodle Soup

What is a good pasta to use for Chicken Noodle Soup? I don't want something that's going to absorb the broth and get puffy and icky. I want something to maintain it's original cooked texture...something that will keep for a day or two without having to add more broth...is that even possible?

    What's your in-time recipe?

I've got to get one of those grills. If I am stocked but with little time - I usually make mac and cheese with weenies....or franks and beans. If I don't have the groceries on hand, and no time, I get take out. :)

Just wondering ... what is everyone reading now?

I just finished a good book, The Boy on the Bus and am reading So Far From God now. The BOTB was interesting because I found myself relating to just about everything going on. I had to close the book a couple of times because it hit a little too close to home but that just goes to show the...
