I found the recipe for pie crust but i'm looking for a recipe for the filling. I plan on using granny smith apples. I've tried apple pies before and they always come out a bit or alot tart. Anyone willing to share how they prepare the filling for their apple pie? Thanks.

You're using tart apples so you will get a tart filling. If you want something less tart, consider cortland apples (or other less tart apples).

8 medium Granny Smith apples
2/3 C sugar
1/3 C all-purpose flour
1 Tbs cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt

preheat oven to 450F. Peel, core and slice apples (I use the stainless steel apple corer/slicer shown below). Put apple slices in large glass bowl. Add sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt to apples and mix thoroughly. Pour filling into pie shell, add top crust, latice crust, or crumb topping (Dutch Apple Pie) as desired, and bake in 450F oven for 10 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350F and bake for 30 to 35 minutes longer.
