After boiling blue crabs how many days can they be stored in the fridge? And safe to eat? The crabs are stored in the fridge in bowl with the water it was boiled in.

While I've never had Blue Crab I can tell you what we did with Dungeness Crab.

First it was rare there were any left over !!

But .. you should not store them in the water.

Clean, then drain.

Turn them upside down and store in an airtight container. Eat or freeze within 3 or 4 days.

You can freeze them and they will be great for up to 3 or 4 months depending on how tight your freezer wrapping is.

Simply steam to re-heat.

Hope this helps !!

Personally, I would not keep them longer than the next day and certainly not in liquid. When I steam crabs, the leftovers are picked and the meat frozen the next day. I would never freeze them whole as the fat can go rancid, even in the freezer.

I'd like to know if they were live crabs when you first boiled them. Just for my own curiosity.
