I have several Scan Pan no-stick pans for making eggs, and crêpes. Just replaced my two pans after about 15 years (maybe longer) of use. The coating didn't chip or peel, it's just not as no- stick anymore. Very sturdy pans. I use wood/bamboo or silicone utensils.

I basically use a non-stick pan until it stops being non-stick. (Usually about 3 years I suppose as I am generally cooking for 2 and don't fry if I can avoid it). But I bought a ceramic pan last year, and it is already losing it's non-stickiness.
