I'm an Aussie, mate...
I can remember a made years ago, well the taste anyway, but cannot remember the recipe.

Those parts I can remember are:
375gms Mixed Fruit
1 Can (300ml I think) Sweetened condensed milk
1 - 2 Tblspn brown sugar
?? Flour (AP or SR ??)
?? Eggs

Bake in moderate oven until light golden brown then natural cool & in the fridge for a while before icing.

This was topped with a Philly cheese lemon icing.

If anyone could possibly fill in the gaps I'd be most appreciative.

I don't know the ingredients of the icing either, so if anyone has any idea at all it'd help.

Thanks in advance......

Just tried making some banana bars but added a bit of corn syrup to make up for the lack of sugar. Big oops! They turned out chewy, sticky and flat but the taste is good. Why does this happen when corn syrup is used in baked goods? Could it be that corn syrup is made from corn starch and enzymes?
