We stopped eating meat about 10 years ago, not because we didn't like it, but because we objected to the cruelty involved. Ever since we have been searching for suitable alternatives.
Quorn is an excellent substitute for mince or chicken, but their sausages are not up to much.
However our search is now over for the best meat free sausage.
For UK residents only, sorry everyone else, the best meat free sausage is available from Wm Morrisons Supermarket. Their own brand £1.19 for 6, frozen.
They are unbelievably 'realistic' and make a terrific butty or as part of a full English breakfast, using Tesco's own brand meat free bacon (not a brilliant substitue, but the best I've found so far).
