Master Chef
DH has always enjoyed cooking...in fact, that's how we got together in the first place. But now that he is retired, he has basically taken over.
Last night, he prepared an inspired meal! He usually sears the salmon fillets, but he announce that he wanted to poach them in chicken broth this time. I suggested that he add thyme, rosemary, lemon and a bit of butter. I also found a bag of asparagus from our garden that was frozen last spring, and left him with that as I went to take my bath.
He braised the asparagus spears in the poaching liquid first, then removed them and poached the salmon. He prepared the dill sauce (my recipe) and baked a couple of Yukon Gold potatoes to go with. It was a most delectable meal that you'd be hard put to find in a restaurant.
I'm so proud of him!
