Read Runza Huts are very popular in Nebaska. Never found one in So. Californa & being curious, had to collect some recipes (have not tried) & pass them along. Think it would make a great football, anytime snack or quick main dish. Have a can of saurkraut that's been calling my name to do something with. Just some food for thought. Wanted to post the Runza site, but puter is not cooperating. To take a peek, google Runza & see the sights/menus . See what you think.

Bread-frozen or made in bread machine
1 pound hamburger
1 head cabbage
1 onion
Prepare bread dough: In a bread machine, you will need 2 batches of your Basic White Bread. If using frozen bread loaves, thaw them & you will need several of them. Chop cabbage & onion & saute them in a skillet w a little oil until tender. In another skillet, brown hamburger.
Prepare bread dough, by rolling it out to size of runza you want. For a meal size runza, roll out about a 6" circle. For smaller portions, roll out a 4" circle.
Combine hamburger w cabbage/onion mixture, stir to mix thoroughly. Place about 3-4 Tbl of mixture in center of bread dough. Fold sides of dough over mixture & seal edges. Bake in 375 oven about 15 minutes or till bread is golden brown..You can freeze runzas & reheat easily.
You can add a little bit of cheese to top of mixture before sealing edges. In Nebraska, there are Runza Huts (fast food runzas) all over.
