There is an old wives tale that is silly but fun to do.

On New Year's Eve put some money outide of your home. It can be any amount. Then the next morning when you get up, go get it and throw it into your home. The idea is that the money is the first thing that enters your home before anyone or anything else. The idea is that by doing this money will come to you in the new year. Silly but fun to do. then next December you can tell the rest of us if it came true.

If you live in an apartment, put it in your mailbox. Put it under your welcome mat. Just put it OUTSIDE your home. Then step outside your door, retrieve the money and toss it into your home. Good luck and good fortune.

I have a girlfriend in Atlanta and every time she goes to the casino in Mobile, she comes home a big winner. She puts her money out every year.

i like to tie a dollar bill to a fishing line from a rod and reel and leave it on the sidewalk outside my home, waiting for people to walk by...

i guess i could put the money on the sidewalk, then reel it in and slam the door shut just in time.

I thought you might enjoy an update. My girlfriend in Atlanta called me last night. She is the one who faithfully every year puts her money out and comes back from the casinos a big winner.

She went to the bank to cash a check. The teller gave her $20 too much. Then she went to the grocery store. Her daughter wanted to buy some ham. She asked for 1/4 lb. There was a gentleman standing behind her and heard her order. Katy left to go find her mother. The girl behind the deli found her still shopping and told her that the man standing behind her daughter bought a full pound of the ham for her and paid for it in full. $15.00. The deli girl was able to point out the man just as he was leaving. Neither one of them knew him. Wow! Twenty dollars, fifteen dollars of expensive ham. What next? So off she went to buy a couple of $5.00 scratch tickets. She won $50.00.

She did go back to the bank the next day and returned the $20.00. She didn't want the teller to get into trouble when her drawer came up short at the end of the day.

Yeah, everyone you know, except yourself of course, goes to casinos and comes back a big winner. I remember one guy telling me that he went to Las Vegas in a $40,000.00 car and came home in a $400,000.00 bus!

She goes to Alabama twice a year for her vacations. Plays black Jack. Comes home a winner every time. If she didn't, she wouldn't go. She only missed one year. When Katrina paid a visit.

I remember when I was a child my mom used to gamble every saturday. We never had money so she would take R20 (just inder $3) and gamble till she won R500. All our groceries used to come from her gambling money. It was so weird, she won exactly R500 every Saturday! My gran and I used to wait in the dining room downstairs at the casino and have breakfast and a juice and she would come and pay for it with her winnings.
She hasn't won anything since my siblings and I were old enough to move out.

I hate gambling but every time my mom asks me to gamble with her I play R20 and I always win at least R500 or more. I'm very lucky. I still refuse to use my money like that when I have children to feed!
