It moved into my jaw and really hurt for awhile, but fortunately Ibuprofen helped. It still hurts, but not nearly as bad now.

Put a damp washcloth in a ziplock in the microwave for a minute and wrap in a towel and hold on your ear. Beats rubbing dumplings in your hair!

I used to used slightly warmed olive oil in my ears, that gave some relief too.

I've found that different OTC medicines work better on certain things than others. For me, for toothaches, Acetaminophen worked the best for toothache (Tylenol). You have my deepest sympathy, toothaches are one of the very worst hurts.
