Pork ribs are my favorite, pork shoulder second, brisket third and chicken thighs.

Gingerbread sauce My uncle used to make the best sauce to go over the gingerbread. It may have been a butter sauce. It was warm, so he may have melted the butter. Has anyone heard of something similar? I love gingerbread and will try this recipe. Thank you for posting it.

You can use canned beets. Use equal parts, water(or juice from can), sugar and vinegar. I boil this then put in the beets and let cool and refrigerate. Can also add any spices you want.

I like the nuts, jams, fresh produce, 2buckChuck, the little biscotti, spices, wild rice, panettone, really just all kinds of stuff... They are 2 1/2 hours away so I don't get any frozen goods. Wish they would get one closer.

It also depends on who your feeding. At senior meals here, we use 4 oz., for hungrier people, you might want to up it to 5 or 6 oz. Are you also using beans in the salad? You could get by with 4 oz meat if you are also having beans.

You can try making peach butter or jam. Sometimes cooking brings out some flavor.

I agree with Andy M., simple is good. I am going to try some different cheeses tho, always use deli sliced American, but I love most cheeses. Anyone tried a bit of blue thrown in?

My favorite is the steamed pork buns, shrimp stuffed dumplings, sticky rice and the custard tarts. I don't get Dim Sum around here and I really miss it.
