    Crunch Cake Recipes

    I have been searching for a crunch cake recipe like my aunt made. Her cake did not have coconut as part of the topping, but nuts and spices.( I think) Can you post crunch cake recipes and maybe one of you will have the same one as my aunt. I have not found anything similar on the web.:mellow

    I read Cooks Country, Cooks Illustrated, Taste of Home, Gourmet and Bon Appetite. I really use recipes from the first three most of the time.:rolleyes:

    Gnocchi

    I really prefer gnocchi made with ricotta. They don't seem as heavy as those made with potato. I think they're easier to make, as well. I have a batch in the freezer which I will cook on Friday.:lol:

    What type of pasta maker should I buy?

    The rollers are very easy to clean. All you do is use the accompanying brush and clean them out. If any remains, after about an hour, use a toothpick to remove it. They're really easy to use and give you outstanding results.:rolleyes:

    It's in the low 70's today, so I have a pot of chicken soup on the stove. I guess we're all getting tired of just food from the grill.:smile:

    Saffron Emergency!

    You cannot substitue any ingredient for saffron. Also, stay away from the powdered saffron because it may not be pure.
