    Peeling Carrots

I always peel away from me. I just personally find it safer and don't find it comfortable peeling towards myself.

What is your favorite kitchen gizmo?

My favourite kitchen tool would probably be this infrared thermometer. It's very convenient because I don't have to stick it into the food and then worry about washing it. The kids also like to help me check temperatures using this because it's like a toy so that's one way they can be involved...

What to do with Chinese 5 Spice

I suggest making a braised beef shank using the 5 spice. Here's a recipe I found online that looks good. The ingredients you'll need is beef shank, soy sauce, rice wine, star anise, ginger and green onion. This recipe does take a long time though according to the recipe- 1.5-2 hrs for cooking...

Radishes, what to do with a sudden unexpected bunch of them?

I'd also go for pickled radish which is very popular in korean dishes and it goes really well with fried chicken and other heavy dishes.

    Snacks

I'd go for nuts, fruit, vegetable sticks or greek yoghurt with berries. You could also add chia seeds into your drinks and food as they contain omega 3 which can increase good cholesterol.

2020 Edition - What are you baking?

I attempted to bake macarons. Keyword is attempted since I'm not so much of a baker unfortunately. Most of them turned out really flat, some were ok and some were slightly burnt.

How many have their knives professionally sharpened?

I've never got it professionally sharpened before- I tend to just use a whetstone. Pretty handy to have one at home just in case you need it sharpened urgently and it doesn't take too long either.

How do you store your pot/pan lids?

I like to store mine on a shelf and the ones I use more often I just leave it on the stovetop. As for the chopping boards I have a chopping board rack and my knives go on a magnetic knife rack- super handy and it saves a lot of space too.

    Anyone watch Mark Wiens?

I just finished watching the chicken curry video and WOW he really does add a lot of seasoning but it looks really delicious and flavourful! If you're a fan of Mark I would suggest you have a look at Best Ever Food Review Show and Strictly Dumpling on youtube as well. They do similar types of...

    Childhood vs Now

My favourite soup from my mum growing up would have to be chicken soup that has been shredded to small pieces with seafood sticks (cut up of course) and quail eggs. Still my favourite to this day. As for my kids I've tried making the same soup as my mum but it just doesn't taste the same. For...

    Water

I cook with regular tap water and have had no issues with it. For drinking I boil water and put it in a jug to cool down. I try not to buy bottled water so much because it just creates so much waste.
