ENGLAND - London .. Ping Pong's dim sum

If you're picky and love it, then I'll definitely like it, as I am not picky! :) But... I don't see a link?

    Dinner, Wednesday May 7

Ooh, I love Paula Deen. Though just watching her show makes my thighs expand, I think. Definitely not for the diet (or thigh) conscious. I was going to do a shrimp stir fry, but I'm just NOT up to cleaning a bunch of shimps tonight. Plus, I'm out of ginger and dont want to go to the store...

Lamb Biryani - An Indian way of cooking Lamb

Mmm, I'm drooling over this recipe. If I can find some inexpensive lamb (which is doubtful) I might try to make this next week! I always have trouble with lamb in stews and sauce-based dishes like this-- it comes out tough. I'm guessing marinating it tenderizes the lamb a bit?

ENGLAND - London .. Ping Pong's dim sum

I am falling-over, starry-eyed in love with London... it's by far my favorite city in Europe. Plus, the food there is amazing (and SO international) and really reasonably priced. Oh, the Indian food! Mmmm I love dim sum and will I'll have to visit that place next time I visit the city. How...

    Lemon Cream Liqueur

This came out great the first time I made it. I made it again over the weekend to give to my Mother in Law for Mother's Day (it's a week earlier in Spain than it is in the States). This time, I made special note of how much sugar I used. For the whole batch, I used two cups of sugar-- I don't...

    Lemon Cream Liqueur

So the success of my last cocktail recipe has inspired me to post another one. This recipe is SO easy and SO good-- once you try it, you'll be drinking it all summer. It makes a liqueur, but unlike with homemade Kaluha (sp?) or Limoncello, you don't have to age it. It takes only about 24...

    Martini McDreamy

I'm so glad you guys liked this! I love it-- delicious and deceptively strong. A good bachelorette party drink. And now that summer's coming, I'm going to be making this all the time. It's just really good-- like I said, even DH loves it. On the sly, anyway. I actually prefer McSteamy to...

    Cost of wine

One day, I'll move away from Spain-- maybe back to the States. And while I'll miss the sea and the sun and the people, what I'll really miss is the CHEAP WINE! You can get a nice (not amazing, but tasty) bottle of wine here for under 3€... And a quite nice bottle for 6-7€. Boy, will I miss...

ISO yummy ham and swiss sandwich

Oh, what a shame-- I'm a little late for your lunch. But I have a wonderful ham and swiss recipe that's made in a small sandwich bun. You place your ham (choose a good one, Virginia is nice) and cheese in a bun. Nuke 1/4 cup of butter, 1/8 cup minced onion, 1/2 tsp. worshetshire sauce (I...

    Dinner, May 2

Ooh, I'm first again today. Come on, sleepies... you still in bed? Just kidding. My time zone's just a bit ahead of many of you. Anyway, dinner tonight is... Indian food! (Can you tell I'm excited?) I'm doing vegetarian. Mattar Paneer (peas with paneer cheese), aloo palak...

Pot stickers/Dim sum ISO good food

Hey-- Just wanted to update everybody on that dumpling recipe I used. These came out AMAZING. I used low-fat ground pork and steamed them in a lettuce-lined bamboo steamer for about 15 minutes, and they were perfect. Really flavorful and a lot better than my other recipe. These will...

    Cake mix cookies

Cake mix cookies are one of the best ideas ever! And totally versatile. For kids, I like to make cookies from that brightly colored tutti frutti cake mix-- they come out really cute.

    Parchment paper

Hey Karen-- I love the idea of using parchment paper when making tortillas! I've always used plastic wrap, but it's hard to handle and still tends to stick a bit. Sometimes I even have to use a little oil to keep the dough from sticking. I'm definitely going to try using parchment paper next...

    Mint!

I love to stick sprigs of mint into glasses of iced tea and lemonade, especially in summer. It's also great in fruit salads. Or make some middle eastern cold salads with tomatoes, onions, etc.-- a lot of them call for mint. I also like to chew on a leaf whenever I want natural fresh breath! :)

    ISO advice on Spain?

While it's true that there are some nice restaurants by Port Olympic, it's also true that almost all of them are terribly overpriced-- so choose carefully! There are some better seafood places in Barceloneta and in the rest of the city. Port Olympic is mostly for tourists. Actually, way too...
